View from room was amazing. Food was fantastic.

Bit pricey for 1 night (€252) but to be expected on Bank holiday/jazz wknd Would have liked a mini fridge in bedroom (I'm on meds that need to be stored in fridge)

The location, all bedrooms facing the water with panoramic views. Very comfortable bedrooms with modern decor. The staff were friendly and helpful generally. Breakfast was very good. The hotel is quite near the bars and restaurants in Kinsale.

Elegant stay

We had a beautiful, elegant room with a view of the harbor. They have a tavern, a restaurant and many spots to sit and have a cup of tea and overlook the water. We had use of the gym up the street, which was lovely. It was a great spot!

Friendly, very helpful staff.

Friendly, very helpful staff. We were given an upgrade to signature suite with balcony. Room was luxurious. Furnishings and decor very tasteful. Very Comfy bed and pillows. Finishing touches of complimentary chocolates and ice ready in the bucket was thoughtful. Will be back.

Great location, quite expensive town but well worth a visit.

Location and view are lovely. Room large and comfortable, staff helpful. Breakfast extensive and very good quality, only had one evening meal there but also very good.

A shame that evening meals have to be taken in the bar as it can be a bit noisy. There is a nice restaurant but it's only used for breakfast, and private groups in the evening (seemed to be a coach party every night whilst we were there). That said the food was very good!

great facilities and location, but some staff is so-so

The room was amazing with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the marina. The pillows were super comfy and the restaurant personnel was really nice.

The staff at check-in (evening shift) was REALLY unprofessional. Literally just handed us the key without saying which floor the room was in, where and when breakfast was served, time for check-out, nothing. It is not a hyperbole when I say Ive stayed in hotels in Japan with robots and check-in that have more intuition and sense for customer service than this guy.

Excellent facilities and location

Had not realised we would get breakfast included so that was a plus. Everything was really clean and inviting, our room was beautiful, the staff were friendly and the hotel was so well located we could walk to everything.

The hotel is great and they eventually took care of the issue monetarily the next morning.

Breakfast was great, location was great. See below for the major issue we had. They couldn't do anything to fix the problems the night we checked in but did take care of the issue the following morning monetarily.

When I checked in they had mistakenly given my room to another guest who refused to downgrade and relocate to the room they actually booked. We had to take the room they had booked. It was not what we wanted in terms of level of room, view, location next to my sister, no air conditioning. They had no other superior rooms to give us.

Overall we had a wonderful stay at the Trident and we'll be back!

The location of the Trident is fabulous and the hotel is lovely. We love Kinsale and the Trident is our usual accommodation. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Though we didn't use it, the pass to pool and gym at the nearby hotel are appreciated. The breakfast has much improved at the Trident since our last visit in April, 2018.

The food in the Wharf pub wasn't great. Kinsale has terrific food, but we just didn't feel the food at the Wharf was up to scratch with other local restaurants. We only ate there one evening, so perhaps it was just an off night. One other detail-the mattresses were not very comfortable on the twin beds in our room. It would be great to have a room option with two full or queen beds.

Nice hotel, rooms good, facilities good. Good value for money.

Location, room size, bed and shower were all good.

The extractor fan in the bathroom runs constantly and the staff say it cannot be turned off: they suggested closing the doors. Why does the fan need to run constantly? Getting up in the night, you don't need to be dealing with two doors in the dark - at least I'd prefer not to. Put them on a short timer or turn them off. Noisy.

Hotel was in a great location

Breakfast was really poor (full Irish), on check out wasn’t asked how my stay was , did we enjoy etc. We had a junior suite that was supposed to be sea view, will you could see the sea but actually the view was predominantly of the hotel car park. I stay at a different hotel once a month all over Ireland this is the poorest I’ve stayed in! All in all poor value for money. You’d be better off staying at fota island and travelling down to kinsale.

location, clean comfort room. see view

The breakfast offer did not meet our expectation. Should be more focused for mid EU guests not only for Irish guests, There was none one piece of veg to be able to choose. I did not expected that the omelet will be served together on the white bread on the plate even I did not order this option.

Misleading website . Swimming pool on website but it’s in another hotel down the road ! Few issues with room not sorted until second day .
